Mission

Robert Semple’s Mission Statement was developed in collaboration with staff, parents, and administration. It is more than just a sign posted on the wall; it is a mirror reflecting the beliefs and values of the school community. “We, the staff of Robert Semple Elementary School, are committed to creating a learning environment that prepares our students for college and career. We are dedicated and committed to ensuring the academic and personal success of each and every student.”

Robert Semple Elementary School's Vision Statement

Robert Semple Elementary, named after one of the city’s founders, is a pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade neighborhood school with approximately 460 students. Built over 50 years ago, Robert Semple has been an integral part of Benicia for half a century. Many of our parents attended Robert Semple when they were children. On weekends, community youth teams play sports on the school field, families recreate on the playground, and the community utilizes our facility for events and meetings. Many children walk or bike to school. From where Robert Semple sits, it has easy access to several parks, the public library, and downtown for walking field trips and activities to explore the rich history embedded in our historic town. Robert Semple has close ties and is supported by the artist community through collaboration in performing arts, sculpture, pottery, painting and music, as well as, being a part of our STEAM enrichment program and our annual Art Day.
